MA13 funding strengthens music lessons and cultural projects at the International Music Academy
In the 2024/2025 school year, thanks to funding from MA13, the International Music Academy was able to expand its diverse range of Music lessons in Vienna and expand it in a targeted manner. The support enabled us to reliably implement our programs for children, young people and adults and strengthened our position as a low-threshold, affordable music school in the Grätzl.
Lessons and offers
All instrumental subjects were successfully completed at both locations: Piano, guitar, violin, flute, recorder, clarinet, saxophone, cello, singing and composition. In total 2184 teaching hours took place - around 89 % individual lessons and 11 % group lessons. Demand continued to rise and the number of active students developed positively. In addition Group courses in music theory and ear training and several Chamber music and ensemble formats offered, which promoted musical learning as a team.
Choir and cooperations
A particular highlight was the construction of the Café:échor Hernals in cooperation with Kulturnetz Hernals and Kulturcafé Max. The choir quickly became a popular, inclusive offering for the district and provided additional visibility with several performances. Following the loss of the original premises, a new location was successfully found for the continuation of the project in the 2025/2026 school year.
