Karlo is a Croatian guitarist and teacher, currently based in Vienna, Austria.
At the age of eight he showed great interest in guitar music and started his musical education at the Rudolf Matz Music School in Zagreb in the class of Prof. Ružica Tomic. Six years later, after completing the primary classical guitar studies and playing at numerous concerts and national competitions, he went on to continue his education with the renowned Croatian guitarist and pedagogue Prof. Ante Cagalj at the Elly Bašic Conservatory in Zagreb.

It was at that time that chamber music became a crucial part of his musical career. As a member of Elly’s Guitar Quartet and GuEllyBa Guitar Orchestra, he has won multiple national and international competitions. After graduating from Elly Bašic Conservatory he moved to Vienna in order to acquire his Bachelor’s degree at Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien in the class of Univ.-Prof. ArtD. Jorgos Panetsos, where he is currently studying for his Master’s degree. He is also the founding member of the ViennElly Guitar Quartet which regularly performs regionally. Amongst his most notable performances both as a solo artist and chamber musician are those at the Gläserner Saal and GroĂźe Musikvereinssaal of the Viennese Musikverein, Arnold Schönberg Center and Ehrbaar Saal, where he played not only the classical guitar but electric guitar and banjo as well.

He has been teaching guitar and music theory to beginner, intermediate and advanced students of different age groups for the past eight years. His students describe him as fun, informative, and attentive, sometimes even strict. He teaches the instrument through different styles and techniques, assuring that you get the most complete musical education.
