Anna Lesjak was born in Salzburg in 1998 and is a classical guitarist with Austrian and Taiwanese roots. She received her first guitar lessons at the Johann Joseph Fux Conservatory in Graz with Gernot Matzka and Florian Palier. She studied classical guitar with Prof. Álvaro Pierri at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), completed her studies in autumn 2022 and was also the recipient of the performance scholarship from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. In addition, she is currently studying pedagogy (IGP-Guitar Classical) at the mdw with a focus on popular music.

In addition to her studies, she regularly attended master classes with the most important musicians and guitarists such as Judicael Perroy, Xuefei Yang, Goran Krivokapic, Marco Socías, Paolo Pegoraro, István Romer, Anders Miolin and others.

Anna regularly gives concerts both as a soloist and in chamber music formations with flute, violin or as a guitar duo. With her duo partner Kathrin Waldner (flute), she performed a chamber music series at the Theater an der Wien in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons as part of the Beethoven Year and will appear at the Vienna Konzerthaus in the next season in 2022/2023. In addition to her numerous concert appearances, she won first prizes both as a soloist and in a duo at the state and federal competition "Prima la Musica" and was awarded second prize at the Lions Club International Music Prize 2019.

For several years now, she has also been organizing projects for young musicians at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, such as the KinderuniKunst creative week, the mdw children and youth master classes and music workshops as part of the SummerCityCamps, all of which take place annually. She has been teaching beginners and advanced students of various age groups for several years. As a musician, practical work and making music together are particularly important to her. The personal development of the students, their musical progress and their enjoyment of music are also particularly important to her.

From September 4, 2023, Anna will take over the management of the Stadlau location (22nd district) and, in addition to her educational duties, will also work as deputy director at our institute.
